Meet the Musicians

  • Patricia Morrison, cellist

    Owner and founder of Strings of Enchantment, Patricia is a Masters student at the University of New Mexico studying Cello Performance and String Pedagogy. She has performed in many professional ensembles throughout the country and teaches students of all ages. With over seven years of performance experience for companies like Got Strings in Harrisonburg, VA, she was motivated to start Strings of Enchantment. She looks forward to making your day special!

  • Luis DeVargas, violinist/violist

    Co-Founder of Strings of Enchantment, Luis is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, earning degrees both in Music Education and String Pedagogy. Luis plays violin and viola. Having played in various New Mexico orchestras, he also has performed in ensembles across the United States. He regularly performs professionally in chamber and orchestral groups throughout New Mexico. Luis a teacher, and performer, has been playing for weddings and special events for over five years.

  • Elizabeth Purvis, cellist

    Elizabeth Purvis is a section cellist with the New Mexico Philharmonic and Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra. She is a proud member of The Maia Trio, a piano trio based in Albuquerque. Previously, she served as Principal Cello of the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra and as a section cellist with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale (now West Texas Symphony), Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and the Lubbock Educational Outreach String Quartet. Ms. Purvis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s in Music Performance from Texas Tech University. She happily lives in Albuquerque with her fiancé, Skylar, and her two cats, Sang and Katara.

  • Rebecca Callbeck, violinist

    Rebecca Callbeck graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from St. Olaf College in 2019. While in the St. Olaf Symphony Orchestra, Rebecca has toured many areas of the United States, Argentina, Uruguay and Norway. She has extensive experience in playing in chamber music, solo performances and has collaborated in major choral works. In 2023, Rebecca graduated with her Masters Degree in Violin Performance from the University of New Mexico, studying with Dr. Carmelo de Los Santos. She currently freelances throughout New Mexico and performs with the New Mexico Philharmonic.
